Magna Carta is 799 – this is what happened for the anniversary

Over the 799th anniversary the annual Magna Carta day was celebrated in Egham along the High Street drawing a great crowd and plenty of stands.


Local police officers were on hand to support the fun and listen to the peoples priorities.


On Sunday down on the National Trust land there was a celebration with  a giants picnic. The ‘giants’ were made by local school children who paraded them on the water meadows.

Up at the [ABA] IMAG0192Magna Carta memorial there was time for some relaxation and cloud watching.


Later in the week up at the Royal Holloway campus there were meetings to help arrange next years major celebrations and afterwards the Magna Carta lecture was presented in the Windsor buildings auditorium.



As you can see there will be some mechanising opportunities that King John , the barons and the commoners would have been stumped with if they had been given them
